Ask Apps

UI/UX

In the most recent creative era of my career, I started doing a lot more User Interface and User Experience work. Starting with assets for Slimware, I branched out doing UI for our new web products and improvements for our Ask search results page. Click the cells to enlarge the image.

Minimalist Marketing Pages

Our testing showed that 'less-is-more' was now the winning formula for our landing pages. Our pages became very templated, so that we could handle massive change rollouts in a faster and more efficient manner. If we saw a certain design or copy deliver a healthy click-thru rate, we would roll out changes to nearly 5000+ pages.

I had become well versed in HTML, CSS and Javascript by this point in my career, and I used that knowledge to build our pages in ways that were more easily changed and manipulated.

By this point, I also started doing more design work for Slimware. They were an e-commerce business, and required different types of designs for their pages.

Chrome Web Store

As we moved all of our products to the Chrome Web Store based on Google's rule changes, it was vital that we convinced the user to click all the way through the process to finally download and install our products. This required many new design assets to lead the user through the process. Below are samples of the designs I created to increase user click-thru rates.

We also created and tested product images for all of our 100+ products for the Chrome Web Store, as every step of the process had an impact on conversion. Below are a sample of the images.

Banner Ads

Our ads were still fairly minimal, but we started observing through testing that we could add more 'pop' to the ads without decreasing click-thru rates. We were also doing a lot more ads on Facebook, which required a different type of design than our broader web banners. Below are the most recent ad designs I created for Ask Apps.
