I started making wooden mugs after being inspired by some wooden mugs I saw for sale at the Renaissance Faire. I don't have a turning lathe, so I had to come up with another way to make mine. I decided that making them out of staves was the best way with tools I had. I try to choose all exotic woods because I love the colors and grain patterns they offer.

Batch #1
These are the first 2 mugs I created, so nearly every step was a test. They came out awesome and I was stoked to get more exotic wood and build more. These are made of hickory and walnut/bloodwood.

Batch #2
I had gotten a better understanding of the process to make the mugs after the success of the first batch. I bought a bunch of exotic planks and got to work on batch 2.

Batch #3
Now that my process was working really well, it was time to get more exotic wood and crank out some more mugs just in time for Christmas!

Batch #4
I have gotten so many requests for mugs, I went a little crazy buying the next round of exotic planks. I have 18 in the works currently, the most I have done at one time.
